Stephen Anderson is at it again. Our most prolific artist approaches genre works in his inimitable style. Landscape, portraiture and self-portraiture, still life, illustration, abstraction, and narrative are all addressed, with unusual takes on each typical convention. For example, the self-portrait show card includes six mini portraits of various women, along with suggestion of each style listed above. Irony free, the work has a calm and sweet approach often lacking in much of today's contemporary art. It's as if he has contrived the end result as they are often slightly obscure and offbeat.
